New Music Friday Is Back
Is there anything better than waking up on a Friday morning, rushing to the home page of Apple Music or Spotify and immediately becoming overwhelmed with how much amazing new music just dropped? Well, that was literally me this past Friday. Let me quickly walk you through all the amazing bodies of work and singles that dropped so you don’t have to go searching yourself 🎧
First, Dreamville dropped Creed III: The Soundtrack, which is a star-studded beauty of an album. All the Dreamville members make appearances, as well as Blxst, Big Sean, Buddy, Syd, SiR, WESTSIDE BOOGIE, Arin Ray, Kehlani, Reason and many more. For me, sometimes movie soundtracks can be hit or miss but this one is constructed perfectly and has countless smooth jams 🎷
Next, Jordan Ward dropped his debut album and when he blows up just remember that I put you on. This album is INSANE and by far my favorite thing that dropped last week. It's entirely produced by Lido and together, him and Jordan were able to blend together so many different sounds and styles seamlessly. I’ve already told y’all about White Crocs, but two other standouts for me are FAMJAM4000 which will have you moving and grooving and Pricetag/Beverlywood which is just a melodic masterpiece. Trust me 🙏
And to wrap up my “album” section, Masego dropped his self titled album Masego which is absolutely beautiful, and Kali Uchis dropped her long awaited album Red Moon In Venus which HITS in typical Kali fashion 💥
Now as for singles, there were plenty and they all come from my favorite artists. First, j-hope of K-Pop supergroup BTS dropped an unexpected collaboration with J. Cole which is one of my favorite Cole verses in a while 👀
THEY. also continued their album rollout by dropping the third single to their upcoming album In The Mood, which features Yung Bleu – this is one of them ones. Buttery smooth would be a massive understatement. And then three artists kicked off their upcoming album rollouts 👇
Was this overwhelming? Yes. Worth every second? Also yes. Thank me later 🥁

Logic Did What?
Okay now this is one of the coolest things I’ve seen in a minute. Two weeks ago, Logic dropped his ninth studio album College Park - so so good. But on track 9, Self Medication, you’ll see an incredibly interesting feature. No, not Redman or Statik Selektah, but Seth MacFarlane, the creator of Family Guy! 😅
Logic got Seth to record vocals for the album and then sampled those exact vocals for the beat. Check this out 👇

Playlist here as always, enjoy your week fam 💜
