⭐️ New Childish Gambino...Or Is It?
Childish Gambino just released a new album to the world, but it may sound familiar to some and I’ll tell you why. Also, it’s time we shine a spotlight on the Grammy Award winning producer, Nascent, who not only just dropped an awesome new album, but also pulled up to the studio for an interview. And as always, five songs to bump 🎵 (3 min read)
New Childish Gambino?
Let’s take a trip down memory lane back to March 15, 2020. Out of the blue, on donaldgloverpresents.com, a new album titled 3.15.20 was released on a continuous loop with no marketing or announcements whatsoever. The album’s tracks sounded like unfinished demos and they did not have official titles, just random numbers. Don’t get me wrong, the “album” sounded good but it was very unlike Childish given his artistic prowess 🎧
Now, let’s fast forward to May 8th, 2024 when the '“album” was stripped from all streaming platforms in preparation for the release of the revised official version of this project titled Atavista
This project emerges as a compelling evolution from his previous project, 3.15.20. While 3.15.20 showcased Gambino’s experimental tendencies, Atavista delves deeper into his sonic explorations, pushing the boundaries of creativity and innovation. With this new album, Gambino continues to defy genre conventions, crafting a mesmerizing soundscape that is as enigmatic as it is captivating 🎼

Atavista builds upon the sonic foundation laid by 3.15.20, expanding into new realms of musical expression. Gambino seamlessly blends elements of funk, R&B and electronic music, creating a dynamic fusion that resonates with both depth and complexity. Each track on Atavista serves as a testament to Gambino’s evolution as an artist, as he fearlessly navigates themes of identity, love and societal reflection with unwavering honesty and introspection 💭
With Atavista, Childish Gambino invites listeners on a transformative journey, challenging them to explore the boundaries of sound and emotion. Through its intricate melodies and thought-provoking lyricism, the album not only showcases Gambino’s artistic growth, but also serves as a testament to the limitless possibilities of musical expression. Atavista stands as a testament to Gambino’s boundless creativity, solidifying his status as a visionary artist in contemporary music
