For All The Dogs
BREAKING NEWS: DRAKE DROPPED AN ALBUM. Unless you’re living under a rock, you’ve probably heard that Drake dropped his 4th album in 2 years, For All The Dogs 🐶
Just like the rest of the internet, I have a lot of thoughts about this album but I want to focus on one main topic in this week’s newsletter - while this may not be considered Drake’s magnum opus, his inclusion of less-established artists makes this album a fascinating listen 🤝
Me enjoying For All The Dogs while everyone else hates on it 💔

Drake almost stepped into a curator role for this album, introducing a fresh wave of talent to the mainstream. Collaborations with Lil Yachty, Teezo Touchdown, YEAT, and Sexy Redd inject a youthful energy into the album, making it a noteworthy platform for these rising stars. And let’s face it, besides the Cole verse and the Party feature, Teezo was really the star of the album 🌟

These features showcase his willingness to champion new voices and put a spotlight on budding stars that he respects and likes. Now listen, I hear and understand all the criticisms of the album. Too many songs, not enough mature lyrical content, the album seems to lull, etc. Trust me, as a Drake stan, I get it. But regardless of whatever your opinion of the album is, FATD is a commendable effort that highlights his commitment to the genre’s evolution 🔊

New Sound Cypher
A brand new Sound Cypher just dropped featuring two incredibly fun rappers, Joey Valence and Brae. They have a very retro, Beastie Boys-esque sound to them and they rapped over one of my favorite beats of all time. Check it out here 👇

To finish it off, here’s five amazing new tracks you should definitely add to your rotation 👌

Playlist here as always, enjoy your week fam 💜
