Freddie Gibbs Freestyle

Freddie Gibbs is fresh off his fifth studio album, $oul $old $eparately, and I can confidently say that this is one of the best rap albums of the year. Stellar production, star studded features and just smooth raps - you can't really ask for much more. But you know what the absolute best part of the album rollout was? The L.A. Leakers appearance for an insane freestyle ๐Ÿ—ฃ

He goes in for about 3.5 minutes over one of my favorite and most classic hip-hop beats of all-time, Jay-Z's This Can't Be Life. But this is where I just want to vent for a second, because I think it's time for soul-sample beats to become prominent in hip-hop again ๐ŸŽถ

All these trap drums and drill beats are already played out at this point. It's every song. And artists think that's what's necessary to break through, but I can assure you it's not Let's get back to a place where stuff like this is the sound that dominates the space...

Class Of 3000

Remember when Andre 3000 had his own show on Cartoon Network? Well, if you did already know, you're welcome for the reminder, but if not, this will be the coolest thing you read all week ๐Ÿงƒ

So in 2006, Cartoon Network blessed Andre with his very own cartoon television series, Class of 3000. Andre voices the main character, Sonny Bridges, who is a jazz/blues musician who doubles as a music teacher at a performing arts school in Atlanta. Each episode contained an original song and accompanying animated music video. The show ran for nearly 2 years with 28 episodes, but was unfortunately canceled after two seasons. Full breakdown ๐Ÿ‘‡

Jay & John Link Up

Here's a quick throwback moment for you that happens to be one of the coolest moments ever. September 11th, 2009, Jay-Z threw a benefit concert to celebrate the anniversary of his classic album The Blueprint and his then-upcoming release The Blueprint 3 ๐Ÿ—ฝ

It was a star-studded evening with the likes of Beyonce, Rihanna, Mary J. Blidge, Pharrell and many more joining him on stage for a slew of performances. But my personal favorite - John Mayer ๐ŸŽธ. John joined Jay on stage to perform U Don't Know and D.O.A. along with a quick medley of guitar covers to some of Jay's biggest hits. Check out the full video here ๐Ÿ

Lastly, here's five new songs you need in your rotation ASAP...
