Jay-Z Requested Big Sean

Did you know that Jay-Z specifically requested for Big Sean to appear on the 2012 song Clique? After Sean got the beat, he laid down the famous hook in less than five minutes. Then, he free-styled his own verse 馃棧

Kanye got a hold of the verse and thought it was so good that he made everyone on G.O.O.D. Music write their own part to the track. Eventually, Jay heard the record and was really feeling it, so he whipped up his own verse 馃椊

  • Once the GOAT hopped on the track, everyone else's verse was scrapped, because, well, Jay-Z was on it

  • BUT, HOV liked Sean's bars so much that he kept his part of the song on the final version

Ten years later, and Big Sean gets to wake up everyone morning knowing that Jay-Z requested his presence on one of the top bangers of the decade 馃帳. Peep the full story here 馃憞

Aaron May Got Next

Aaron May is the best new artist out of Houston that you've never heard of. In 2019, he dropped his breakout single Let Go, which caught my attention in a major way 馃

Aaron is insanely talented with a super unique sound. He's producing a ton of his own stuff, incorporating amazing soul sample beats and writing relatable songs. He just dropped his newest project, No Recognition, which I've had on repeat for the past few months 馃攤

This has easily been on of my favorite projects of 2022, so good that I had to get in the studio to break it down. Take a look 鉁忥笍

Let's Take 'Em Back

June 12th, 2011 - my 15th birthday, and the day Lil Wayne had one of his most legendary performances of all-time 馃摵

If you haven't seen this video, this was the day Wayne blessed the MTV Unplugged stages to perform new renditions of his classic records, and also preview some new stuff from his then long-awaited The Carter IV album. Iconic would be an understatement 馃弳

Drake and Nicki Minaj were on the come-up at the time, but this was all everyone was talking about. Easily one of my favorite videos to record, peep the full story 馃幎
