DJ Clark Kent Interview

It鈥檚 a bird, it鈥檚 a plane, it鈥檚 God鈥檚 favorite DJ - Clark Kent! Last week, I had the opportunity to sit down and chat with one of the most legendary figures in hip-hop, and if I鈥檓 being honest, this conversation was one of the coolest moments of my entire life. Since everyone is talking about Drake's newest project, peep his thoughts here 馃憞

For those who are not too familiar with Clark, he is a DJ and producer who rose to stardom in the 90s while working alongside all the greats. He was the one who introduced Jay-Z to Damon Dash, which eventually led to him producing Coming of Age, Cashmere Thoughts and Brooklyn鈥檚 Finest (with The Notorious B.I.G.) for Jay鈥檚 critically acclaimed debut album, Reasonable Doubt 馃帶

He produced the first song Lil Kim ever appeared on, Junior M.A.F.I.A.鈥檚 Player鈥檚 Anthem, with the Notorious B.I.G. He produced Mariah Carey鈥檚 Loverboy, which ended up reaching #2 on the charts. And he also hosted Wale鈥檚 blog era classic Folarin. And on top of that, he鈥檚 also worked with Rakim, 50 Cent, Shaq, Slick Rick and many more. He has some thoughts on the best MCs 馃幑

The two of us chopped it up for about an hour and he blessed me with so many incredible stories and so much knowledge. We talked about a plethora of topics: Jay-Z鈥檚 Reasonable Doubt sessions, the greatness of DJ Premier, working on Shaq鈥檚 album (which featured Kobe Bryant), Wale鈥檚 cultural impact, modern day classic albums and much more 馃挭

Hope you enjoy a few of these clips, I'll be posting more on TikTok all week. Stay tuned here 馃敟
