Mark Down February 24th 🗓

After a messy departure from his former label, we finally have a date for Logic's first independent album. Super pumped for this. Plus, the best song on New Music Friday you missed and an epic throwback video of Adam Levine and Mos Def 👀 (3 min read)

New Logic Loading

Young Sinatra, Bobby Tarantino or simply just Logic - whatever you want to call him it doesn’t matter, but what does matter is the fact he’s dropping a new album, College Park, February 24th. This project will be a special one for Logic, as it marks his first independent album after the messy departure from his former label. Logic has hinted at this album for quite some time now in various ways, so let me walk you through the timeline real quick 📝

  • June 17th, 2022 - On his previous album Vinyl Days, he rapped on the song LaDonda, “College Park next, b****, I saved it for the fans.”

  • January 4th, 2023 - He dropped Insipio, his first promotional audio effort for the album

  • January 9th, 2023 - He announced the album release date for College Park alongside this anime trailer below. He also announced the list of collaborators, which includes RZA, Redman, Statik Selektah, Joey Bada$$, Seth MacFarlane and many more

  • January 10th, 2023 - He released the album cover art which is wildly reminiscent of his debut studio album, Under Pressure

  • January 13th, 2023 - He released his second single for the album, Wake Up, which features long time collaborator Lucy Rose 🌹

Listen, I know Logic can sometimes be the victim of internet hate, but he’s always been one of my favorite MCs. I’ve watched his career closely since Young Sinatra so he’s extremely sentimental to me, but let’s just face the facts here – Logic is an extremely talented and well respected MC among his peers and he consistently drops quality projects (with the exception of a small few) 🎶

If you take into account his recent work, the list of collaborators and the cover art, I think it’s safe to say that we’re gearing up for a solid project. I’m wildly excited and you should be too 🙏

The Party's Here

Is there anything better than waking up on a New Music Friday and seeing a brand new single from PARTYNEXTDOOR? I think not. He just dropped off his new single Her Old Friends, and let me just say this song is AMAZING 🔥

Early last week, Party cleared his entire IG feed and changed his profile picture which meant he had to be dropping something 👀

This song reminds me of why I fell in love with his music in the first place - beautiful melodic crooning over an ambient spacious beat with insanely toxic lyrical content. Call me crazy, but the vocal performance on this song is very Young Thug-esque. I truly hope this single means that we’re getting an album soon. He hasn’t dropped since PARTYMOBILE back in 2020 so I think it’s safe to say we’re long overdue 🍿
