🤓 I Interviewed Drake's Producer
Sango, one of the most unique producers and DJs in the world, has produced for Frank Ocean, Bryson Tiller and he just added Drake to that list. He came by our studio and it was easily one of my favorite interviews. See if you can keep up with the hip-hop immaculate grid I whipped up for him 🎧 (2 min read)
Sango Sango Sango
If you’re unfamiliar with the name Sango, let me introduce you to him because it’s about time you get acquainted 🥁
Sango is a world-class producer and DJ, who has produced for the likes of Frank Ocean, Bryson Tiller, Bas, Smino and that’s just scratching the surface. But he just added to that production credit list in a major way with his contributions to the second track on Drake’s For All The Dogs ‘Amen’ with Teezo Touchdown. Talk about major placement! 👏
But you want to know what’s even cooler than his most recent placement on the Drake album!? That the legend himself came through to the studio to chop it up with me for a full interview 👇
@overtimesound sango chose kanye’s late registration to listen to again for the first time 🎓 #sango #kanye #lateregistration #hiphop #raptok
We talked about so many things like albums he wishes he could listen to again for the first time, and I even tested him with one of my famous hip-hop immaculate grids 📚
@overtimesound sango pulled up to give the hip-hop immaculate grid a go 👀 @kai sango #hiphop #raptok #kanyewest #lilwayne #sango
I hope that you enjoy all the content from this interview, because this was truly one of my favorite ones yet 🙏
New Westside Gunn Album
WHERE MY GRISELDA FANS AT!? The influence and prevalence of Westside Gunn and Griselda is at an all time high. They’re ability to release numerous projects at such a rapid pace is uncanny, but the quality does not suffer due to the rate at which they release – it actually seems as if each project is better than the last 📈
And WSG’s latest release, And Then You Pray for Me, is just that – another quality project in his discography. But is this his last album? WSG recently took to Rolling Stone to let his fanbase know the following 🗣
[This is] going to be the last album where I take the time to say ‘this is an album. When I was doing the Hitler Wears Hermes series, I was doing all them projects like mixtapes. I was recording the whole shit in two, three days. I’m not saying I won’t come with a five-song EP with Madlib or I won’t do a seven-song EP with Alchemist or I won’t rap. I’ll do all of that, but making a studio album, I’m done with all that.
But we’ve seen this tale before a thousand times over. Rappers say that their latest release is their last project ever and then years later we get the long-awaited grandiose return that nobody saw coming. Nevertheless, I, like you, am praying that this isn’t WSG’s final album. Check out this banger 🎧
