Rihanna's First Appearance

Everybody who was of age in 2005 remembers when Rihanna first burst onto the scene. Pon De Replay was her first breakthrough hit, and this song completely took over the air waves 17 years ago. After this, and a Jay-Z co-sign, she never looked back 💃🏽

But did you know that Rihanna’s first ever appearance on a song came slightly before this banger? Her debut actually came on fellow Roc-A-Fella record signee, Memphis Bleek’s song The One off his 2005 album 534. Peep the full breakdown here 👇

JID & Smino Tour

JID & Smino just announced a tour! The Luv Is 4Ever Tour kicks off in January and is going to hit 32 cities along the way. The two artists will be co-headlining and performing their respective new albums, and hopefully some of their collaborations like Baguetti and 1993. But this all got me thinking, what are the best co-headlined tours in hip-hop history? Let me rattle off a few that come to mind 👥

  • Drake & Future’s Summer Sixteen Tour. This 54 show momentous occasion was the highest grossing hip-hop tour of all time (at the time) and came right after Drake dropped Views, Future dropped EVOL and the two dropped their collaborative mixtape What A Time To Be Alive (Video)

  • Jay-Z & Kanye West’s Watch The Throne Tour. This 57 show tour came off the heels of a hip-hop holy grail, Watch The Throne, and is widely considered one of the most legendary tours in hip-hop history 👑

  • Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem & Ice Cube’s Up In Smoke Tour. This 44 show tour may arguably be the most star studded hip-hop tour ever. At the time, these were four of the biggest names in music...the tour was so legendary that it even got its own DVD release 📀

It is absolutely amazing and so refreshing to hear Mac’s voice again. And what makes this track so cool is that it is a follow up to his song Therapy from the 2014 mixtape Faces ❤️
